Out west several basketball recruits are letting the midwest and east know that they can hold their own when its time to take to the hardwood. Division 1 schools are lining up at the doorsteps of Vance Jackson, Lonzo Ball, Zach Collins, and Ira Lee. As these 4 climb the national rankings, they keep the basketball battlegrounds on an even plane when considering which region is dominant in the sport. Already a force in the paint, Zach Collins will keep moving up the charts as his mid-range jumper continues to develop. And Vance Jackson is as special of a shooter as former Xavier guard and current pro, Jordan Crawford. With Marcus Lovett leaving California and going to Chicago for his final season of play, Lonzo Ball steps into his spot as possibly the most exciting guard coming out of the west. You could also argue that Ball is the most complete guard from that region and when you add that to the emerging Ira Lee (co’17), the west region can seemingly challenge any territory in talent and skill.
