Some of the best athletes can’t be found in the rankings or media outlets. They’re busy living in the gym and chasing a dream that they’ve otherwise been told is unattainable. That dream is becoming a division 1 college athlete. They may be deemed too slow, underskilled, or undersized. In the mind of spectators these would be valid arguments against these young athletes but to the athletes, they are just additional temporary opinions amongst a long list of naysayings. The best thing about the unranked is that they have the advantage of avoiding complacency and are usually off the radar. They can make mistakes on the floor or field and can fix them along with strengthening any areas that are weak. All this while being in the safe place of sheer hardwork and determination.
