The talent that comes out of Cedar Creek high school was validated this past weekend at the Notre Dame 7 on 7 passing camp. Cedar Creek high school is fortunate enough to have two of the most athletic recruits in the class of 2016 and ’17. Ahmir Mitchell, a four star receiver/defensive back, and Bo Melton, a top-notch threat, give the Cedar Creek football team imminent threats on offense as well as one of the best defensive back tandems on the east coast. The fact that Ahmir is entering his senior year and Bo his junior year has to keep smiles on the Cedar Creek coaching staff, as they know that they have a two year guarantee on some of the nation’s best talent. It was a known fact that both Mitchell and Melton were very good offensive players but the question remained whether they were able to keep up the pace on defense after taking the majority of the offensive snaps. That question was answered during the Notre Dame passing camp, as both players were able to hold their own against one of the midwest’s top receiving threats in Jaylin Carter (Wheaton Warrenville South), a player who has had a great summer at passing camps. Cedar Creek will attempt to seal winning seasons for 2015 and 2016 with these two young men displaying a host of talents on offense and defense. Fans should definitely stay tuned.
