Lest we forget the magnitude of the not so distant high school basketball season, here’s a quick reminder. Starting with the class of 2016 which possesses unspeakable talent, from top to bottom this could definitiely be the model of basketball recruiting classes for a long time to come. Mix and match any of the top 20 players from this class and they can compete with any of the elite college programs. Taller guards are plentiful with the likes of Josh Jackson and Lonzo Ball leading the talented group. That proficient dude known as Jayson Tatum humbly accepts the role of the next player to revolutionize the sport with his paramount skill set, while Miles Bridges looks over the upcoming schedule electing which crowd to electrify with his frame-rattling dunks. Thon Maker and Jonathan Isaac plan on owning the paint while the athletic guard foursome of De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Frank Jackson, and Markelle Fultz prepare their aerial assaults for all competitors. The class of 2017 won’t slack with their talent level. Battle lines remain set at the guard spot as four players are pressing Trevon Duval for the top spot. Gary Trent Jr. and Trae Young welcome the national rivalries between themselves, Duval, and the rangy Charles O’ Bannon Jr. Add that in with the emergence of the now healthy Nojel Eastern along with the new blazing star, Malik Williams, and the anticipation of the upcoming season can pull any high school basketball fan to the edge of their seat. Stay tuned.
